The project
The official website for the Vienna Capitals, one of Austria's leading ice hockey clubs. The platform serves as the central hub for fans, providing real-time match updates, news, ticketing, and team information.
What was built
The website was completely rebuilt to prioritize performance, mobile responsiveness, and fan engagement. A key focus was the seamless integration of external data sources for live game statistics and league standings, ensuring fans have instant access to match results. The user interface features a modern, high-contrast design that aligns with the club's branding, offering an intuitive navigation structure for accessing tickets, merchandise, and player rosters.
My role
I was responsible for the full-stack development of the new platform. This involved integrating a custom CMS (Strapi) to allow the editorial team to easily manage news and media. The solution includes API integrations with the league's data providers to automate the display of schedules and scores. Additionally, a robust caching strategy was implemented to ensure sub-second load times and a smooth user experience across all devices.
